Dinokeng Nature Reserve - Spoil the family and go for a guided drive through the Dinokeng Nature Reserve. This is the first free roaming big 5 residential game reserve in Gauteng and probably in the world next to an urbanized area.
Groenkloof Nature Reserve - This nature reserve features low broken ridges varying in steepness. Wildlife includes zebra, jackal, duiker, kudu, impala, blue wildebeest, blesbuck, red hartebeest, ostrich, giraffe and sable.
Rietvlei Nature Reserve - Rietvlei dam was build during the great depression (from about 1929 to early 1930's) and was completed in 1934. Feeding the dam is the Sesmyl spruit, five fountains and five boreholes. The reserve is made up of open grassland with undulating hills with indigenous trees clustered in small groups. The Reserve covers an area of 3800 hectares and can support up to 2000 head of game. Game is readily seen along the roads ranging from cheetah to rhino.

Hennops hiking trail offers hikers to experience one of the few unspoilt native areas near the Hartebeespoort Dam.

Groenkloof trail have a fantastically fun route to drive. This circular route is 14 km long and will take +- two hours. The terrain consists of water, steep climbs and a rocky climb.

Guthries shooting range in Vorna Valley has a 20 yard indoor archery range, 60 m outdoor archery range and a SABS-accredited 25m indoor shooting range for handguns. Another place where you can go is : Arrowrest is situated in Hartebeespoort and also offers bass fishing, 4 x 4 and paintball.
